Babolat Aero Modular
Aero Modular Technology
AeroPro racquets feature a frame with varying profiles at three strategic points: the throat, the shaft and the head of the racquet.
Player Benefits:
-
A faster swing due to improved aerodynamics
-
Increased power while maintaining excellent ball control
Babolat Woofer
Woofer
The First Dynamic System Which Makes The Frame And The Strings Interact When Striking The Ball
A tennis racket is a frame with strings. The frame is basically static and holds the driving force of the racquet - the strings - in place. The strings are
attached to both sides of the frame. Only some strings are active when struck by the ball. This means that racquets do not deliver their full potential.
Babolat set out to imagine a racquet optimizing the frame and the strings - to invent a frame which permits all the strings to work together to their full
potential when striking the ball.
Pulley Function
-
The WOOFER eliminates string lock-up: the strings are free to move.
-
The whole surface area reacts on impact: with the WOOFER, more strings work together when striking the ball. The strings are interactive. This
increases sweetspot size, improving forgiveness during off-center shots and absorbing much of the shock produced during ball impact.
Piston Function
-
Increase in the Trampoline Effect: The piston function enables greater surface deformation on impact, delivering 10% extra power and ensuring that the
strings retain their energy for a longer time.
-
Shock Absorption: The pistons act like a suspension system to dampen unwanted vibration.
Babolat Carbon Nanotube Technology
Carbon Nanotube Technology
Characteristics:
-
Five times more rigid than current carbon racquets
-
Molecular organization, as pure as that of a diamond, makes it the ideal material to use between the sweetspot and the handle.
-
High driving properties.

-
Enhanced performance for the stabilizers between the sweetspot and handle thanks to this real concentration of power and purity .
-
More power and feeling in real time.
Babolat Dual Woofer
Dual Woofer Technology
With the latest Woofer design patented by Babolat, The Dual Woofer is designed to ensure optimum comfort for light racquets with oversized heads. Dual Woofer
contains 68 "vibration dampeners" located all around the head. Two materials have been combined for their complementary functions:
-
Rigid material: ensures the strings’ perfect skid upon impact with the ball.
-
Flexible material: captures vibrations before they propagate into the frame.
Advantages: Five times more shock-absorbing than a traditional bumper grommet! From now on, racquets with oversized heads are both
powerful and comfortable. Dual Woofer will provide unparalleled comfort and excellent feel.
Babolat Aerobeam Technology
Babolat Aerobeam
The world’s most aerodynamic racquet. +15% air penetration thanks to the aerobeam technology.
Babolat Cortex
Cortex
Babolat’s Cortex shaft vibration dampening system is designed to offer greater comfort during play. Available in two versions,
the Cortex system used in the Pure series of racquets reduces harmful racquet vibrations without filtering out the feedback required for feel. The result of
filtering unnecessary vibrations results in what Babolat calls a "pure feel." The Cortex system used in other Babolat racquets filters and dampens for maximum
comfort.
Babolat Smart Grip
Smart Grip
Babolat’s Smart Grip is contoured to fit the shape of your hand. The special shape of the grip places the entire hand in
contact with the racquet resulting in more power with less effort, more control with less racquet twisting and more comfort due to the way the grip fits the
natural shape of the hand. Smart Grip is the first racquet handle shaped to fit your hand, because your hand is not flat.
Dunlop Muscle Weave
Muscle Weave
A unique patented graphite weaving process that provides for frame strength and stability. Provides the foundation to support Concave technology.
Dunlop Hot Melt Technology
Hot Melt
The "HotMelt" manufacturing process is performed at 250 degrees to create a molten graphite skin over the entire frame. According to Dunlop, this process
results in 30% more power than traditional graphite racquets.
Dunlop Aerogel Technology
Aerogel
Aerogel is the world’s lightest solid. It has strength up to 4,000 times its own weight. Aerogel’s nanometer-sized molecular network delivers an
unmatched strength to weight ratio for enhanced stiffness and power. Aerogel racquets offer incredible power with touch and feel without compromising weight.
Fischer Magnetic Speed
Magnetic Speed
When the ball hits the strings the racquet frame is naturally deformed as both sides move together. In a Magnetic Speed racquet, equally polarized magnets at
the 3 and 9 o’clock positions return the frame to its original position faster than conventional frames. The result is more power returned to the ball
and greater ball speed off the stringbed.
Fischer Vacuum Tech
Vacuum Technic
Vacuum Tech is a special process for manufacturing tennis racquets. As in conventional racquet production, the prepeg layers for making the frame are wound
first. The vacuum is created after the winding process is completed.
The lower pressure created by the vacuum literally sucks any air bubbles out of the frame that may have formed in it during winding. The result is a
homogeneous, stress-free frame. Racquets produced in Vacuum Tech are particularly known for their great feedback and the optimum ball feel they give to the
player.
Fischer Air Carbon Ti
AirCarbon Ti
Fischer Tennis is the world’s only racquet maker entitled to use this material developed for aviation applications. AirCarbon is a special carbon fiber
that is reported to be up to 50% stronger than the fibers conventionally used in racquet construction.
AirCarbon Titanium is not only strong, it is extremely lightweight. This is especially important because Fischer can achieve the same high strength with just
half the amount of material previously required, providing above average torsional stiffness.
Fischer Power Feel
Power Feel System
The Fischer Power Feel System is the ideal frame system for advanced/intermediate players. With its increased head profile, this racquet delivers more power
and better ball acceleration than many "player’s" frames, while its slim shaft creates a better overall racquet feel to take better advantage of that
power.
Fischer FT Frequency Tuning
FT Frequency Tuning
The latest technology in the field of vibration control! A specially calculated mix harmonizes irregular vibration curves and transforms excess energy into
higher velocity rebounds. The excellent feedback in these racquets is unprecidented.
HEAD Flexpoint
FLEXPOINT
Flexpoint racquets feature two precisely-engineered control holes in the racquet’s head. This creates a new point of flex, which cups the ball and
improves control without losing power. The patented HEAD Flexpoint technology breaks the rules of traditional racquet design by not making racquets stiffer,
but by engineering them to flex in a new and revolutionary way.
With a conventional racquet, the ball strikes the racquet at 90 degrees, but due to the racquet flexing it leaves the racquet at a different angle. A Flexpoint
racquet is designed to cup the ball by flexing at the Flexpoints. The cupping effect reduces the angle at which the ball leaves the strings and promotes more
accurate hitting. Flexpoint technology increases the dwell time and ball pocketing due to its cupping effect which increases feel and provides a larger
sweetspot.
Flexpoints are made up of two complimentary features and are located at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions on the racquet head. Each Flexpoint features an
engineered dimple to create flexibility by reducing the beam width by a maximum of 25%. Each Flexpoint also features a hole in the center of the dimple which
reduces sectional stiffness by 50%.
Head LiquidMetal
LiquidMetal®
Developed by the California Institute of Technology (CalTech), LiquidMetal® alloy provides 29% more power than Titanium. Just as its name implies,
LiquidMetal® alloy is different from conventional materials because of its liquid (or "amorphous") atomic structure. This means that LiquidMetal® alloy
does not deform on impact, resulting in ultimate energy return.
Head places LiquidMetal® at four strategic areas of the racquet’s head, integrated in the main layer of the frame’s construction. This allows
all of the energy from ball impact to be used for a power return - so what a player puts into his or her swing is exactly what they get out. The result is what
Head calls Pure Energy. Perfect Power™
Integrated String Dampener (ISD)
Integrated String Dampener (ISD)
Affixed to the grommets at the base of the head, the (ISD) absorbs string vibration. Now even the most powerful racquet is easy on the arm and completely
comfortable, no matter what style of play.
Total Sweetspot Construction
Total Sweetspot Construction
Total Sweetspot Construction increases torsional stability in the racquet head and extends the sweetspot throughout the entire racquet head, resulting in
ultimate control.
Head Intellifiber
Intelligence Technology
FEATURE:
Intellifiber is a new fiber created from piezoelectric material. Extraordinarily different from conventional materials, this fiber (according to Head)
transforms the mechanical energy from ball impact into an electrical response that stiffens the racquet for ultimate power. Intellifibers are integrated on
both sides of the throat area. An electrical impulse actively changes the shape of the fibers - in less than a millisecond - at ball impact.
BENEFIT:
According to Head, in less than the first millisecond of ball impact, Intellifibers stiffen and reduce bending in the throat area for unmatched power in
current racquet design. Unlike mechanical energy, electrical energy does not create vibrations. Therefore, 20% of the vibrations are immediately eliminated
upon ball impact for optimum comfort.
Head Titanium Tennis
Titanium Tennis Technology
FEATURE:
A composite weave of ultra-strong titanium and ultra-light graphite fibers which help with weight reduction, while maintaining stiffness and power.
BENEFIT:
Better frame maneuverability. Improves overall racquet stability.

BENEFIT:
Increased ball acceleration combined with better, overall racquet feel.
Head SofTac Grip
SOFTAC Grip
FEATURE:
Soft elastomer compound and traction surface construction for increased feel and tact.
BENEFIT:
Prevents unintentional twisting of the racquet in a players hand. Also provides additional vibration dampening and perspiration absorption.
Head IntelligenceX
IntelligenceX Technology
FEATURE:
Intellifiber is a new fiber created from piezoelectric material. Extraordinarily different from conventional materials, this fiber (according to Head)
transforms the mechanical energy from ball impact into an electrical response that stiffens the racquet for ultimate power. Intellifibers are integrated on
both sides of the throat area (Intelligence Technology) and now also in the racquet head, at the 10 and 2 o’clock positions (IntelligenceX Technology).
These "Xtra" Intellifibers promote added stability. An electrical impulse actively changes the shape of the fibers - in less than a millisecond - at ball
impact.
NoShox Dampening System
NoShox Dampening System
A newly developed "memory foam" integrated into the racquet handle reduces vibrations 27 percent better than systems in conventional racquets.
Head Protector System
Protector System
The HEAD Protector Midplus and Oversize racquets feature an Electronic Dampening System (EDS). Unlike conventional dampening systems, HEAD’s EDS is an
active and electronically controlled system. In an EDS racquet, high-tech piezoelectric fibers convert mechanical energy into electronic energy and are
controlled by a microchip. HEAD’s EDS recognizes the dampening mode and electronically creates a canceling counter vibration. This reduces shock impact
by more than 50% and residual vibrations twice as fast as in a conventional racquet period. This results in significantly reduced stress on the arm with each
and every shot.
Head Metallix
Metallix
Metallix combines a specially designed matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy. Metallix is one of the lightest and strongest new materials.
The alloy construction utilizes a grain size 1000 times smaller than typical metal making for dramatically increased structural strength known as the Hall-
Petch Effect: Smaller Grains = Stronger Material.
Positioned in the redesigned shaft section, Metallix reduces overall weight while making the shaft section stiffer for increased racquet power.
HEAD LMS
LMS
HEAD developed a new throat design by lowering the bridge section, making the main strings longer. Longer main strings increase the size of the hitting surface
without increasing the racquet headsize. The result is a larger sweetspot and more power without compromising maneuverability.
HEAD Stabilizer
Stabilizer System
The HEAD Stabilizer is a tuned mass dampener. Incorporated into the throat of the racquet, the Stabilizer continuously swings in an opposite direction to the
flex of the racquet frame. This opposition counteracts the frame’s oscillation and is extremely effective in stabilizing the racquet for a very solid
feel. The result is more comfort and a solid feel on every shot.
ProKennex Ionic Technology
Ionic Technology
According to ProKennex the new Ionic-AKS technology offers a 56% performance improvement over the original Kinetic System. The use of a new composite Kinetic
material and a process designed to reduce the build up of static electrical force inside the Kinetic strip adds even more power and further reduces frame shock
and vibration compared to the original Kinetic System.
ProKennex Kinetic System Technology
Kinetic System Technology
Thousands of micro-bearings are housed inside chambers around the racquet head. As the racquet swings forward, the micro-bearings move to the back wall of the
frame, loading energy. When the racquet strikes the ball, this kinetic mass transfers forward, adding power and reducing frame shock and vibration.

A term meaning any Prince racquet longer than the standard 27inch length. Stretch racquets provide more power (leverage), extend reach, and provide better
angles when serving.
Prince More Performance
More Performance
More Performance Technology is, according to Prince, a revolutionary new two-piece construction process whereby unique string channels are formed without
drilling. This preserves vital frame fiber for increased torsional strength, while direct string-to-frame contact produces an intimate feel for the ball.
There are three primary components to More Performance Technology:
Dimension #1: More Power
Patented TWO-PIECE PowerLock construction maintains 100% frame fiber integrity, with no drilled holes. According to Prince, this produces a unique anti-torque
inner wall delivering 15% more structural rigidity.
Dimension #2: More Control
Direct Contact string channels mean no holes drilled into any More Performance frame, including no sensation-dulling plastic grommets. In their place, a
lively, intimate feel for the ball, plus the stabilizing strength of undrilled, undamaged frame fiber.
Dimension #3: More Comfort
The Air+ Comfort Handle is a breathable handle with independent suspension. Four independently suspended legs inside the exclusive Air+ Handle are designed to
eliminate up to 50% of fatigue-causing shock. With every shot, air circulates in and around the handle for improved ventilation.
Power Angle Anti-Vibe Angle
Anti-Vibe Angle
PowerAngle Diagonal strings are equal in length, and disperse the vibration and impact of the ball evenly around the frame. The patented, PowerAngle Diagonal
String Technology sets PowerAngle Rackets apart from all the other rackets on the market. Conventionally-strung rackets have horizontal and vertical strings
that are unequal in length. These different-length sets of strings vibrate at different frequencies and do not disperse the impact of the ball evenly.
EASIEST ON THE ARM
PowerAngle Diagonal String Technology disperses impact better, away from the racket handle and PowerAngle Rackets are the most comfortable to use. Doctors and
tennis coaches endorse PowerAngle, confirming that less effort is needed to hit a ball solidly. The longer, Diagonal strings absorb the shock of the ball
best, thus protecting the muscles and joints of the shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, and hand from undue stress.
SWEET SPOT IS BIGGER AND BALANCED = MORE POWER
Diagonals create a bigger, more-balanced, sweet spot. The two sets of Diagonals in PowerAngle Rackets are symmetrical and overall more resilient, thus MORE
POWERFUL. The Diagonals of PowerAngle Rackets form a stronger weave that is easy on the arm but punishing on the ball. The speed of players’ serves
increases up to 15%.
BETTER TRACTION = MORE CONTROL
PowerAngle Diagonal strings have angled openings between the strings that grab the ball best, allowing added spin, with superb control. Wider spacing between
strings adds additional dwell time. The traction of the Diagonal pattern is more functional, like the Diagonal treads on tires. The ball stays on the Diagonal
strings longer, THUS MORE CONTROL
EASY TO STRING
PowerAngle Rackets have dot-to-dot number markings on each frame and are as easy to string as conventionally strung frames.
EXTENDED STRING LIFE
PowerAngle Diagonals last longer than conventional stringing because the Diagonal angles form a more secure weave. Diagonal strings move less. Therefore, there
is less friction between strings and the Diagonal strings last up to 5 times longer than conventionally strung rackets.
Tecnifibre TexAlium
Texalium, developed by Hexcel, is primarily used in the aircraft and spacecraft industries. This composite fiber with its specific weave pattern creates
strength while being lightweight. Tecnifibre achieves desired benefits by using Texalium reinforcements at key positions in its tennis racquets:
-
Provides Torsion Stability to Improve Accuracy
-
Enhances Feel for more Control
-
Dampens Vibration for Added Comfort
Tecnifibre TEC System
The TEC (Tennis Elbow Care) System was developed by Tecnifibre to provide a real solution to tennis elbow problems. Harmful racquet vibration sources are
isolated from the rest of the frame, thanks to the TEC System elastomer sockets. As a result, low frequency vibrations, which are responsible for the sharp
pain of Lateral Epicondylitis tennis elbow, are better filtered.
Tecnifibre NEO Touch
This patented concept allows for a great deal of comfort at the point of impact and significantly reduces racquet shock. The elastomer inserts in the shaft of
the racquet provide vibration absorption without filtering out feel.
Volkl DNX
DNX
DNX is a new unique material structure featuring high-strength micro tube construction that is 25 times stronger than regular carbon fibers. DNX is an entirely
new material class whose properties represent the fourth dimension of carbon. DNX has strength characteristics that have never been reached before, a true
break-through in material development, now exclusively available in the new DNX Racquet Series by Volkl Tennis.
Volkl Catapult Technology
Volkl Catapult Technology
-
Pre-Load - Activating the Catapult: The Catapult is a spring freely mounted onto the frame and is pre-loaded during the stringing process.
-
Control Phase - Receive Time: As the ball hits the string bed, the Catapult spring compresses and energizes or "loads" the catapult, thus creating a
deeper string bed pocket. The increase in receive time (the Control Phase) results in 30% more control and a larger sweetspot.
-
Power Phase - Release Time: The explosive resetting of the Catapult shortens the release time (the Power Phase) by 30%, delivering more power. Power
is further enhanced because the ball compresses less and retains more of its own energy.

Volkl Energy Box and Energy Shaft
Energy Box and Energy Shaft
Energy Box and Energy Shaft beam construction work together to deliver enhanced racquet head stability and a more powerful response by increasing beam
stiffness in key areas.
Energy Box
Located at the 5 & 7 o’clock positions on the racquet face, the Energy Box is supported with Titanium and Lite Carbon. This material mix along with
the box shape construction is designed to increase stability in the racquet. On off-center shots, the Energy Box works to stabilize the racquet for smoother
and more precise shot making.
Energy Shaft
The unique triangle shaped shaft construction was developed for one reason: POWER. The Energy Shaft stiffens the shaft area of the racquet, resulting in less
energy loss and hence adding more power to every shot.
Volkl DNX POWER ARM
POWER ARM
The dynamic properties of the POWER ARM produce maximum power for every tennis player. Being structurally decoupled from the racquet head, the POWER ARM is
pulled backwards upon ball impact. The tennis ball plunges deeper into the stringbed. Right at the moment the ball changes direction, the recoil sets in: The
POWER ARM recoils dynamically and leads to extreme acceleration on the ball.
Wilson nCode
nCode
When a racquet is nCoded nano-sized silicone oxide crystals permeate the voids between the carbon fibers. This adjustment made at the molecular level
significantly strengthens and enhances the stability of the overall carbon matrix. Stronger and even more resilient nCoded racquets play better longer.
nCoded racquets measure 2 times stronger 2 times more stable and up to 22% more powerful than ordinary racquets.
Wilson Triad Technology with Iso.Zorb
Triad Technology with Iso.Zorb
According to Wilson, the traditional one-piece racquet design may minimize critical playing characteristics (power, comfort, control) when attempting to
maximize another.
But what if the hoop and the handle never touched? Not only could you maximize power in the hoop and control in the handle, you could isolate shock and prevent
it from reaching the arm. For the first time ever, you could design a racquet that didn’t compromise.
Introducing TRIAD, a revolutionary tri-component design that (according to Wilson) maximizes power, control, and comfort without compromising one for the
other.
The hoop and the handle of a TRIAD racquet are designed as customized components. They never touch. Wilson buffers them with Iso-Zorb, an exclusive Wilson
polymer similar to the material used in skyscraper foundations to absorb the shock of an earthquake.
Wilson believes this design breakthrough delivers a level of performance impossible in an ordinary one-piece racquet.
Wilson HyperCarbon
Hyper Carbon
Hyper Carbon is a space age material used primarily by the aerospace industry in the construction of satellites and state of the art airplanes. As defined by
Wilson, Hyper Carbon is......"the first Ultra High Modulus graphite ever used in tennis racquets." Hyper Carbon is claimed to be 4 time stronger, 4 times
stiffer and 65% lighter than titanium.
Wilson Hammer
Hammer Technology
Hammer technology maintains the majority of racquet mass, or weight, in the head of the frame (head heavy balance), with the intention of increasing stability
and power. In turn, weight is reduced in the shaft and handle, providing for a higher and larger sweetspot, or Center of Percussion (COP).
Wilson ProStaff
ProStaff
A style of racquet with a lower Center of Percussion (COP), or sweetspot, that maintains more weight in the handle section than head (head light balance).
ProStaff racquets are best known as control oriented "players" racquets. Opposite of head heavy (Hammer) balanced frames.
Wilson Stretch
Stretch:
A term meaning any Wilson racquet longer than the standard 27inch length.Stretch racquets provide more power (leverage), extend reach, and provide better
angles when serving.
Wilson Flat Beam
Flat Beam:
Refers to a racquet with a constant width cross section. Usually found in conjunction with head light (ProStaff), control oriented Wilson racquets.
Wilson PWS
Perimeter Weighting System
Uses weight on the perimeter (3 and 9 o’clock positions) of the frame to increase the racquet’s inertia and to improve torsional stability and
reduce racquet twisting.
Wilson Dual Taper
Dual Taper Beam:
Wilson’s varying width of a racquet’s cross-section. From a side view, the cross-section of a Dual Taper Beam racquet varies from thin-to-thick-to
thin in the racquet’s head-to-shoulder-to-handle regions respectively. This tapered design concentrates racquet stiffness in the primary area where the
racquet bends during ball contact.
W Slingshot-Yoke
Slingshot-Yoke
Wilson’s new Slingshot-Yoke design features a broader throat for increased stability during play. The Slingshot-Yoke allows the W racquets to offer a
stable response while being light and maneuverable.
Wilson Iso-Zorb Grommets
Iso-Zorb Grommets
Iso-Zorb is an exclusive Wilson polymer similar to the material used in skyscraper foundations to absorb the shock of an earthquake. The grommets in the Hyper
Hammer 2.7, 4.0 and 6.2 are engineered from this material. According to Wilson, vibration is reduced by 30% for increased playing comfort.
W nZone
nZone
Located at the 3, 9 and 12 o’clock positions on the racquet face, Wilson’s nZone grommet system offers increased power and a more dampened and
comfortable response. nZone increases the size of the sweetspot for a more forgiving response.
Yonex Nano Speed Shaft
Nano Speed Shaft
Yonex uses a combination of 0.7-nanometer fullerene carbon fibers and 7-micrometer carbon fibers, taking advantage the fullerene fibers’ unique ability
to form a high-quality molecular bond with the carbon fibers. The Yonex nano-science process concentrates more fibers in the lower third of the head and throat
to provide the ideal stiffness for high stability, high repulsion and maximum return of energy to the ball. The new "Matrix C60" construction is used for
lightness and higher repulsion power.
Yonex Muscle Power
MP (Muscle Power)
All Muscle Power (MP) racquets have Muscle Power Technology integrated throughout the entire grommets system, producing maximum durability and power with more
frame stability. The Muscle Power system "rounds the corners" of each grommet, offering the dual benefit of extra frame durability while reducing string
vibration for a more solid feel on impact.
Yonex Ultimum Ti
UTI (Ultimum TI)
A technology that incorporates, according to Yonex, a super high-energy transfer into the shaft. Yonex describes Ultimum TI as a "power condenser", storing the
maximum amount of impact energy.
Yonex Titanium Mesh
TIM (Titanium Mesh)
High-density Titanium Mesh fibers molded into layers of high density graphite make for better frame stability. This combination prevents twisting at impact and
provides better balance to handle faster racquet head speeds. Titanium Mesh fibers are strategically molded into the frame at the three and nine o’clock
positions.
Yonex Isometric Square Head Shape
ISO (Isometric Square Head Shape)
This exclusive Yonex innovation results in a sweet spot up to 48% larger than a traditional oval head shape. According to Yonex, it ensures more power and
control with fewer off-center shots.
Yonex IPS System
IPS (I.P.S. System)
By inserting extra weight at the three and nine o’clock positions, a greater "moment of inertia" is created on the face of the frame, reducing torque
(twisting) and increasing overall frame stability.
Yonex Dual Power Structure
Dual Power Structure
The new aerodynamically-contoured upper hoop of the frame lowers the air resistance, and allows a sharp swing through. Also it gives the ideal amount of head
flex to store the power and hit the ball with maximum speed.
Yonex F2 Filter Grommet
F2 Filter Grommet
By combining the specially made metallic power with grommet, the unnecessary vibration and sound at the impact will be reduced, and only the right information
will be transformed to your hand to hit the clear shots.
Yonex Elastic Ti
F2 ElasticTi
Elastic Ti delivers the performance players have long wanted in a frame - high elasticity and high strength together. Moulded into shaft, Elastic Ti shaft
overcomes the limitations of conventional frame material. With its powerful rebound effect, a split second after impact and deflection. Elastic Ti Frame snaps
back to its original shape with high accuracy and with the full energy of the swing.
Yonex Soft Grommet
Soft Grommet
The soft grommets are located at the 4 corners of the frame. These grommets are designed to reduce the shock from any off-centre hits, widening the sweet spot
still further.
